![]() Our camp dates have been finalized. Yay! In our first year, we've decided to offer two independent sessions. Ladies and gentlemen, allow us to introduce Irie Week and Independence Week. A lot of thought went into choosing these two themes and we wanted to just gi yuh a likkle look behind the scenes. Seriously, we couldn't have landed on two more awesome weeks for the launch of Irie Camp Jamaica. So let us present your options. Irie Week: July 29 - August 3, 2018 Since this would be our first ever session, the moment that will go down in history as the beginning of what we hope will be many more, the springboard that we would leap from into the awesome ocean of cultural awareness, we forewent humble names. This week is all about capturing that essence of IRIE. It's about introducing today's youth to the Jamaica they wish they knew and reconnecting even more to the Jamaica they'd only heard of in stories. It's about traditions - some old, some more recent, but all so very much a part of our heritage. It's about laying the foundation for memories. Whether those memories are the reimagining of a bygone era, or jumping all in to connect with peers over fun culturally-steeped activities, Irie Week guarantees a good time. Independence Week: August 5 - 10, 2018 We got really excited about having camp during the week of independence. Really, what better week is there to get to know Jamaica than the week celebrating when Jamaica became its own country?! When mi seh wi glad bag buss! We want this week to capture and reflect all the pride and energy that will be brimming on the island. Talk about an electrifying week to be in a camp that's all about celebrating Jamaica! It's like we're part of the festivities!! We're going to roll Emancipation Day activities into the celebration of Independence Day to make a week that will have kids saying "Nice cyaan done!" National pride will be on full display this week, so our campers will get a serious dose of JAMAICA. So, which week will you and the kids choose? Well, you could always skip the dilemma and just go with both! |
